Important information from the President

2021 is a very special year for the Chopin Society as it marks our 50th anniversary.

Many events were planned: a Celebrity Series; a Hatchlands concert with Melvyn Tan in May; a Gala at Strawberry Hill with Angela Hewitt in June, and John Gilhooly OBE OSI, Director of the Wigmore Hall, kindly gave us the Wigmore Hall for a Gala in October.

Due to the Covid pandemic the earlier events had to be cancelled, but the Society is delighted that the Wigmore Hall event went ahead on Sunday October 17th as scheduled. HRH Princess Alexandra, Royal Patron of the Chopin Society was Guest of Honour. She was escorted by her brother, HRH The Duke of Kent, Royal Patron of Wigmore Hall.

It was a truly magnificent evening. Download the Souvenir Gala Programme which contains an illustrated full history of the Chopin Society.

Our series of regular recitals at Westminster Cathedral Hall restarts in November with the first in our postponed Celebrity Series.
