Hatchlands Park, East Clandon, Guildford, GU4 7RT
Hatchlands Park, a National Trust property, stands in a handsome wooded park, landscaped by Humphrey Repton, and is just 23 miles from London.
The splendid rooms, designed c1758 by Robert Adam, are furnished with the Cobbe Collection of old master paintings, and of composer instruments which are maintained in playing condition.
In 1997 the instruments were given to the Cobbe Collection Trust, a charity which aims to enable musicians and audiences to hear music sounding as near as possible to what the composers themselves would have heard (see the Cobbe Collection website: www.cobbecollection.co.uk).
Getting there
See the National Trust's own website for full details of how to get to Hatchlands Park by train, car or bus - and for a route map.
